What is steve lavin?

Steve Lavin is a former basketball coach and current college basketball analyst. He was born on September 4, 1964, in San Francisco, California.

Lavin began his coaching career as an assistant coach at Purdue University under Gene Keady before moving on to become an assistant coach at UCLA under Jim Harrick. In 1996, he was promoted to head coach of the UCLA Bruins, where he led the team to six NCAA Tournament appearances in seven seasons.

After leaving UCLA, Lavin went on to coach at St. John's University, where he led the Red Storm to two NCAA Tournament appearances in five seasons. He later transitioned to a career as a college basketball analyst for ESPN.
